It is my pleasure to have the opportunity to serve Haviland Grade School as the Superintendent/Principal. The dedicated staff, school board, and community make it an enjoyable career.
I began my teaching career after graduating from Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Oklahoma. My first job was in Bazine, Kansas as a 4th grade teacher and high school girls basketball coach. We lived there for 3 years and then moved to Haviland where I began teaching junior high science in 1996. In 2008 I graduated from Fort Hays State University with a master's degree in Instructional Technology. A few years later, I graduated from Emporia State University with a master's degree in Administration. It was at this time that I had the opportunity to move into the prinicpal position. In 2017, I completed my District Level Licensure through Wichita State University and became the district Superintendent.
My wife, Diann, is a graduate from Newman University in Wichita. She is the resource teacher and also teaches 6th Language Arts, technology, and PBL in Haviland. We have two sons, Joshua (and his wife Dura) and Spencer. In our spare time we enjoy flying powered parachutes, traveling, and spending time with family. We really value the opportunity to live and work in a small town and appreciate the continued support we feel from our community.
