High School Student Council hosts annual blood drive

Haviland High school STUCO hosts a blood drive every year and this year it was held on September 17.

Linda Ballard, the STUCO sponsor, has coordinated the drive for several years now, "It went well this year, we missed a few of our regulars due to corn harvest, but we picked up some from Greensburg who donated. The STUCO kids did a good job. It was a good experience for them. They learned about helping others and doing something for someone else," Ballard said.

Forty-seven people came in to give blood, eleven being first time donors and five being H.H.S students.

"It was cool that we get to help people by giving just a little bit of our blood. It was my first year to help out and it was amazing to see how time consuming the process really was," senior STUCO rep. Jamie Williams said. (...)
