Industrial Arts aka Shop, Metals, and Construction

Teacher - Mr. Griffin

Mr. Griffin is the shop teacher for the 3rd year at Haviland High School.  Doing all kinds of projects from carts for the football managers, to building trailers, grills, and putting buildings in at the College Hill Apartments.  He teaches Metals, Woods, Construction, and OoTM.  Traveling from Garden City, Mr. Griffin plans on building a house on his property here in Haviland this year.  Currently Mr. Griffin is living in FEMAville.  Anyone in Shop classes will know that Mr. Griffin is a competitive person,  Every project that you will do will have some form of competition involved in it.  From building wooden bridges to testing the strength of glued joints, to building weird towers waiting for it to topple over on the other students, Mr. Griffin by far has a lot of fun in classes.

January:  While the welding class finishes up required welds, Construction is getting ready to move the buildings over to College Hill Apartments.  The Vehicle OotM team started construction of props for their projects as well.  Selected students in the welding class have started work on a trailer to transport the buildings as Woods classes begin to finish up quilt racks, cabinets, and other such projects.

February: In February, most of the classes spent time working on getting ready for OotM on the 1st of March.  We began working on a form of transportation for the buildings that are going to College Hill.

March:  After a huge success at OotM Regional, teams are again preparing for the State Competition at the end of March on the 29th.  We are also working on moving the buildings and moved one building over on the 4th of March.
